What is Preppy? Needlepoint

I love the old school feel of needlepoint belts and shoes. The motifs on these accessories are so preppy!

preppy needlepoint products

Row 1:

From newcomer Tucker Blair, we have needlepoint belts. (More products are currently in development!) I think David would love the golf themed belt!

And don't flip out now, but you've never seen anything more adorable than these baby shoes from By Paige.

AMH Design, LLC has a great selection of contemporary patterns. You can buy a needlepoint kit or order finished products.

Row 2:

If you're not into the belt idea, Voila can take a belt design and turn it into Eliza B flip flops!

And don't flip out now, but Preppy Petunia offers monogrammed gingham needlepoint key fobs. Check out all their needlepoint offerings!

For a whimsical twist in home decor, you have to love the Jonathan Adler needlepoint pillow of preppy belts.

Row 3:

At Smathers and Branson, you can make your selection from a variety of products, including needlepoint dog collars. Francie would like the Greenwich Plaid, please!

The Larkspur Collection has needlepoint coasters, placemats, pillows, shoes and more! I love that you can order these mules with your own monogram.

Fine Cell Work is a charity in the UK. With an excellent selection of needlepoint cushions ranging from contempory to traditional styles, I picked the Carnation pattern as my favorite. They have also collaborated with designers like Nina Campbell and Allegra Hicks to offer a line of designer cushions.

Navy and Green

Look what came in the mail! Perfect focus for a preppy week. The first thing that caught my eye was the fabulous return address. Crisp and bright navy ink on white envelopes. (I love the square size, but remember it is extra postage!) I opened the mailer to reveal this modern preppy Tory Burch pattern, foil embossed in silver metallic. A fall lookbook! Of course, I had to meander through the pages to pick my favorite. I'll take the navy and green wellies!

Preppy Nursery

lemon tree paperie nursery

There is nothing preppier than a monogram. So, when Julie over at Lemon Tree Paperie sent me this photo of her newborn's nursery, I had to share it with you. Don't you love the green walls? Isn't the striped border crisp and elegant? Check out the Serena and Lily bedding! Are you drooling? Me, too!

When her son was born, Julie selected this note card for his thank you notes. Buzz on over to Lemon Tree Paperie and check out more of our stationery selection. You'll find Julie's customer service far above excellent! Her attention to detail is evident in the execution of this nursery design, isn't it?

For another preppy baby idea, check out this Lacoste stroller by Maclaren at Neiman Marcus. Little alligators, galore!

Week of Preppy

Summer is here, and there is nothing preppier than summer. In celebration of sailing, beach houses, flip flops and Lilly Pulitzer shifts, we're hosting a Week of Preppy! To kick it off, I'd like to introduce you to a few of my favorite preppy bloggers, a few of whom have offered to sponsor a stationery giveaway!

Readers, meet Third Coast Preppy. She's a thirty-something, married lady, preppy girl, first-time mama, shopping addict, recovering attorney, etiquette nazi, serial comma devotee, procrastinator extraordinaire. We have SO much in common, minus the "first-time mama" and "recovering attorney". My favorite Third Coast Preppy post is her Nautical Nursery. Didn't she do a great job with the water theme?

Next, I'd like to introduce you to Tres Poshe Preppy. She is so chic, and has a fabulous blogroll of preppy blogs, just in case you are bored. She likes cable knit cashmere and cupcakes. YUM. One of my favorite Tres Poshe posts is So Me vs. So Not Me.

Both Third Coast and Tres Poshe are sponsoring a Whitney English giveaway! Stop by their blogs to enter a comment to win one of the packages, and read a little.

Oh, and one more preppy blog mention: Sippycups Are for Chardonnay is hosting a Baby Shower Inspiration Board contest! Head on over, get inspired, submit your baby shower ideas!

Check back more tomorrow. I'm off to find the preppiest recipes, pink and green party ideas and luxuries for more Week of Preppy!
